Before the legal stuff

Karisma works because people trust us enough to share who they are, what they're building, and what they're working through.
This Policy is how we honour that trust.
The short version of what we promise is below. The legal detail follows for anyone who wants it.

Our Privacy Promises

We collect only what helps us serve you better. Not what we could collect. Not for analytics theatre. Just what makes Karisma better for you.

We will never sell your data. To anyone, ever. Your data is not our product.

You can opt out of anything, anytime. WhatsApp, email, the whole thing. One message, no questions.

WhatsApp is a privilege, not a default. Kari only messages you if you've explicitly said yes. And you can shut it off whenever you want.

What's said in Karisma stays in Karisma. Your application, your conversations with us, what you share inside the community. We don't share it outside, and we expect members to do the same.

Kari helps us serve you. She doesn't replace the humans. AI is a tool here, not a surveillance system. There's always a human at the other end.

We store your data in the EU. Frankfurt, Germany. Under GDPR. Where it should be.

1. Who we are

Karisma Growth LLP ("Karisma," "we," "us," "our") is a Limited Liability Partnership registered in the United Kingdom under Partnership No. OC459429, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What we collect and why we ask

We collect different categories of data depending on how you interact with us. Here's what we collect, and why.
Identification and contact data (name, email, phone, city, country) So we can reach you about your application, events, and community life.
Professional and business data (company, role, business stage, sector) So we can understand who you are and whether Karisma is the right room for you.
Interaction data (messages with our team and with Kari, event attendance, RSVPs, feedback) So Kari can give you relevant responses, and so we can keep improving the experience.
Membership data (billing details via Stripe, tier, renewal status, participation history) So we can deliver the membership you paid for. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles that.
Technical data (IP address, browser type, basic usage data) So our website and platform work properly, and so we can identify and fix issues.
We don't collect information we don't need. If you think we're asking for too much, tell us.



3. How we use your data and the legal basis

4. WhatsApp communications

If you've opted in, we use the WhatsApp Business API (provided by our messaging partner 360Dialog, EU-hosted) to send you messages from Karisma staff and from Kari, our AI concierge.
You may receive curated event updates, member introductions, answers to your questions, and personalised recommendations.
You can opt out at any time by:

Opting out of WhatsApp does not affect your other communication preferences (e.g. email) unless you ask us to remove all consent.



5. Kari and AI: how we use AI in Karisma

Kari is our AI concierge. She sends curated updates, suggests introductions, answers your questions, and helps us run a better community.
Here's exactly what that means.
What Kari sees: the information you've shared with her, your messages, and the data we've collected through your application or membership. She uses this to give you better, more relevant responses.
What Kari stores: your conversation history and the preferences you share with her, so she can be useful to you over time. Stored in our Convex database, EU-hosted.
What humans see: Karisma staff can review Kari's conversations with you. This is intentional. It keeps Kari accountable, helps us improve her, and means there's always a human ready to step in if something needs a real person.
What Kari does not do: sell your data, use it to train external AI models, share it with anyone outside Karisma, or message you without your consent.

We do not sell your data to third parties.



7. Where we store your data

Your data is stored primarily on EU-based servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
Some of our service providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will communicate material changes in advance via email or through our platform.
The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
